Check out the video of "Into My Distance". Shot in London, Nov. '09 with Stu Hamm. It's in HD on my YouTube page:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJEx-RIgEU8 Let me know what you think? Bio I started playing guitar at the age of 13, played in loads of local bands, played local gigs and recorded a few things along the way. About 15 years ago, life threw me a curve ball and I had to give up my music and didn't play a note until about two years ago. My son Ross (now 17) had started to learn to play guitar (and what a talent he is!) and nagged and encouraged me to start playing again - I will always be grateful for his nagging! Thanks Ross! Since then, I have been fortunate enough to play with some fantastic musicians and I thank them for their help and inspiration. The Project In 2008, my family received the devastating news that our mother had been diagnosed with a form of Dementia at the age of just 67. Alzheimer's and Dementia are terrible, terrible conditions that affect so many people around the World. Not just those afflicted but, also the families and friends of those suffering. I really wanted to do something, anything, to help. Running a sponsored marathon was out (too fat!); likewise a sponsored sky-dive (scared of heights). But, I thought I could write a half-decent tune and maybe I could raise some money if I put a few tracks together for download and the money could go to the Alzheimer's and Dementia charities. I could cover everything else but, really needed a bass player for the project and as I'd met Stu Hamm briefly at the London Guitar Show in 2008 (I'm a huge fan!), I decided to contact him through his website. To cut a long story short, he got on a plane and came over to London to record with me, on the 5th & 6th of September, 2009. Thanks to his professionalism, immense talent, help and patience, Stuart has helped me to create some music that I am very proud of and I hope people will enjoy. I also couldn't have completed my project without the help and inspiration of Danny Gill from the Licklibrary team. Danny is an ex-pupil of Joe Satriani, my guitar teacher and mentor. Danny has revitalised my playing and shown me more in the last two years, than I learned on my own in 20. He's a great guy and a fantastic musician. Andy Edwards, 2010.
